Many people have the common problem of not receiving any replies from potential employers due to the improper layout or formatting of their resumes. Employers usually receives resumes cumulating to 20 to 30 for a certain position. Never expect them to go through resumes that are lenghty and "wordy" as they simply do not have the time to do so.
Here comes TIP NO. 1: Make your resume as concise as possible. Limiting your resume to a maximum of 2 pages containing only the most important information that your potential employer want to see. Neat and tidy resumes are comfortable to the eyes of employers.
TIP NO. 2: Make use of categories to input your details that are of importance to the job application. For example having a category for Personal Particulars, Academic Qualifications, Previous employments (reason for leaving last job), Date of availability, expected salary. Many candidates sometimes simply apply for a position just for the sake of applying without considering if they meet the requirements/conditions set by the employer.
